COVID-19 Procotols

To ensure the safety of our clients and teachers, we have implemented the following procedures. These cover how and when our three teaching spaces are used, and how and when they are cleaned. They also state how teachers will conduct the sessions and the ways in which we ask clients to help me maintain a safe environment.

• Teachers are committed to the well-being of their clients and colleagues, and if they show any signs of COVID-19 (temperature, cough and difficulty breathing), they will not be allowed to enter the studio.

• We ask that you cancel your sessions if you are experiencing any signs of COVID-19 or if you or anyone in your household has come into contact with someone who has symptoms or has been diagnosed with COVID-19. We will send you a list of symptoms prior to each studio booking.

• Teachers will observe social distancing guidelines to stay the required distance from clients and other staff members. (Either legally determined or a greater distance as requested by client or teacher.)

• Hands-on coaching is not permitted.

• Face masks are mandatory for clients and teachers in communal areas. Please bring your own mask.

• In session, teachers will wear either clear face guard or a mask, depending on local guidelines and client and teacher preference.

• It is down to the individual client to take reasonable personal responsibility when taking part in physical activity. If there is no legal requirement for clients to wear masks, it is up to you decide if you wish to wear a mask in your session.

• We ask clients to bring their own water bottle and towel. (Towels, glasses or water jug are no longer supplied.)

• Please wash their hands or use sanitiser prior to your session. Hand sanitiser will be provided, as well as antibacterial soaps and throwaway paper towels. The teachers must also wash their hands or sanitise prior the session.

• You must wear socks in the studios. (No bare feet.)

• After each client, teachers will carry out cleaning of high-contact touch points throughout the premises (including door handles, banister, taps).

• Touch points of equipment must be cleaned after use by the client, using disinfectant and throw-away paper towels.

• Windows will be kept open as much as possible.

• There will be a minimum of a 15-minute window in between sessions to minimise the potential for interaction in the communal ares of the building at one time.

• We will not be asking teachers or clients to wear gloves, but you are welcome to do so. The World Health Organisation (WHO) advice is that it is preferable not to wear gloves but to regularly wash your hands.

• First Aid: Although there may be heightened concerns around first aid, this will continue as normal, with the addition of gloves and face masks being worn for general first aid.

• Public Health England (PHE) or equivalent posters will be on display informing customers and staff of social distancing and cleanliness/hygiene protocols throughout the facility.

We are continually reviewing our policies in line with Government advice, particularly the ‘Working safely during coronavirus (COVID-19)’ guidance for those providing close contact services.
